Niche practice seeks Mental Health Solicitor on a permanent basis in London.

A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious solicitor with a passion for mental health law to join a specialist team located in London. Managing a varied caseload with the appropriate supervision, the successful solicitor will provide high quality advice and representation on all aspects of mental health law.


Responsibilities
  • Advising clients detained under the MHA 1983
  • Lawfulness of detention
  • Provisions of aftercare
  • Voluntary inpatient admissions
  • Advising/assisting at managers hearings
  • Advocacy in the Mental Health Tribunal
  • Court of Protection
  • Dealing with vulnerable clients
  • Issues of treatment and progress


The Candidate
  • A qualified solicitor from NQ-3 years’ PQE
  • Technical proficiency in mental health and Court of Protection matters is essential
  • Able to explain complex matters in clear, accessible language
  • Highly organised with the ability to meet and exceed tight deadlines
  • Strives for high standards in their work
  • Has a desire for professional development
