My client is a dynamic legal aid law practice with offices nationwide, dedicated to providing top-quality legal assistance. The firm seeks a highly organised and efficient Legal Aid Assistant to join their team, with an opportunity for home working available to qualified candidates.

Position Overview:
The Legal Aid Assistant will support the firm’s Legal Aid Administrator by organising legal help claims, maintaining databases, and ensuring efficient communication with clients and fee earners. The role is ideal for a highly organised individual with a keen eye for detail and experience in a legal aid environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Legal Aid Support: Assist with the organisation of legal help claims, gathering information from clients and fee earners
  • Data Management: Maintain and update legal help databases, ensuring accuracy and completeness of records
  • Form Completion: Assist in completing necessary legal aid forms and documents
  • Client Communication: Communicate relevant information to clients and colleagues efficiently, both in person and in writing

Requirements
:
  • Previous experience in a legal aid environment (desirable)
  • Experience using case management systems (e.g., LEAP)
  • Strong numeracy skills and ability to manage data
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to multitask and work to tight deadlines
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and integrity
